AMEA judging and results.
Know how your AMEA product is assessed, how to use judge feedback, and what to check before promoting an award.
AMEA · Retail butchery
Individual assessments.
For the AMEA four-criterion score set, judges record ratings for workmanship, post cooking, texture and consistency, and flavour and aroma. Their weights are 25%, 20%, 25% and 30% respectively.
At least three fully completed judge assessments are required for award eligibility. Valid completed assessments are averaged. An unfinished assessment is not a zero score.
Entries marked rejected, withdrawn or disqualified are not eligible. Tied category-leading scores require AMIC review; the system does not select a champion automatically.

One AMEA program, product-specific judging.
Charcuterie is one of AMEA’s three competitions. Its consensus judging process has its own guide.

Saved scores are not an award announcement. AMIC reviews eligibility and any champion decisions before confirming results. An incomplete judging record is not a “No Award” result.
Your AMEA results and feedback report can include the recorded section scores and judge comments. Where a judge supplied no comment, there is no written feedback to reproduce—we do not invent it.
Obtain your entrant report from the competition coordinator after results are released. There is no public lookup of private entrant reports on this page. Keep private report and artwork links confidential.
Contact AMIC through the AMIC websiteTurn feedback into a practical next step.
- Read the whole assessment. Consider the section scores alongside the actual judge comments, not just the final result.
- Choose one area to work on. Look for repeated observations. Ask the coordinator about unclear or missing feedback rather than assuming a fault.
- Trial a controlled change. Record the recipe or process adjustment and compare it with your usual product.
- Keep a product record. Retain the report and your trial notes. Compare across years only where the category, method and scale are genuinely comparable.
Promote the award you actually earned.
Wait for official confirmation. Use only the artwork and wording approved for the awarded product, program, year and award level—not a broader claim about every product your business sells.
- Check the exact product name, category, year and award before printing signs or posting online.
- Follow your issued artwork agreement and brand guidelines. AMEA artwork access may require signing the supplied licence.
- Do not describe a medal as a category championship or a state result as a national title.
- Keep your award evidence and licence with your marketing records. Ask the coordinator if artwork access or permission is unclear.
Medal artwork is not downloaded from this public guide. Use the private access issued for your confirmed award.
