01 / Why awards
Great work deserves more than a quiet nod.
Every day, Australia's independent makers bring judgement, care and hard-won skill to their benches. The AMIC Awards are a place to put that work forward.
Product assessment gives you another perspective on what you make. Where judge scores and comments are supplied, use that recorded feedback to identify what is working and what you might refine.
Earned recognition also gives you something specific to explain across the counter: the product, the award and the program that assessed it.

02 / One program. Three competitions.
Australian Meat
Excellence Awards.
AMEA brings together the Sausage Excellence Awards, Burger Excellence Awards and Charcuterie Excellence Awards. Choose your entry pathway below. Each competition retains its product classes and judging requirements.
Two competitions within AMEA
Enter a sausage or burger in the relevant competition using the shared entry form. Check the product class and preparation requirements before entering.
A competition within AMEA
Enter charcuterie and smallgoods in the AMEA program. This competition’s entry form captures its specific categories and preparation requirements.
All three competitions belong to the Australian Meat Excellence Awards (AMEA). Product-specific entry forms and judging criteria remain in place within this single awards program.
03 / The judging room
A closer look
at the craft.
Led by a head judge and supported by industry practitioners, the judging panel brings practical product knowledge to the assessment table. The head judge guides the panel's approach and helps judges apply the relevant program's criteria consistently.
Industry experts bring experience of butchery, smallgoods and the craft behind each entry. AMEA and ACEA have distinct judging approaches: read the guidance for your program rather than assuming the same criteria or award process applies to both.
